This role will be responsible for taking aspects of software engineering and applying them to cloud infrastructure and operations solutions powering myQ, an industry leading IoT cloud platform. This role will have demonstrated software development skills, and experience in a cloud environment with both Linux and Windows system expertise. This role will have experience in designing and implementing systems at scale in a highly available global cloud platform and collaborating with globally distributed teams/stakeholders.
Job Responsibilities:
Design and engineer infrastructure environment & platform to solve current challenges, as well as creating future opportunities
Lead initiatives to improve the platform from inception to design to implementation and optimization, working with many teams and team members.
Establish working relationships with business members, technical staff, and subject matter experts to help create and execute the infrastructure roadmap
Correspond with TECH/IT executives and stake holders to maintain and execute the infrastructure roadmap
Provide forward thinking on technology and innovative solutions with a strong emphasis on automating our infrastructure and technology solutions
Evolve PaaS implementations, working with vendor solutions and cloud services
Participate in monitoring, troubleshooting and RCA for security and infrastructure events
Accountable for accomplishing tasks both independently and collaboratively; provide high quality work in a deadline driven environment
Provide leadership, assistance and technical guidance to the SRE Team Facilitate and manage discussions with TECH/ IT Executives, Architects and Senior Engineers Collaborate with security team on architecture design and tools
Provide governance of our Infrastructure as a service environment; stay current on overall TECH/IT strategy, business goals, technology trends, updates, and releases
Responsible for complying with the security requirements set forth by the Information Security team and the established ISO 27001 Security Roles, Responsibilities, and Authorities Document found in the ISMS Document Library Indirect Supervisory role as a leader on the team. Lead projects from inception to implementation and lead other team members to succeed in their tasks
Comply with health and safety guidelines and rules; managers should also ensure compliance across their teams.
Protect Chamberlain Group’s reputation by keeping information confidential.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reading professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results and participating on projects as needed.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree Computer Science or related field
An advanced degree in directly applicable area of study may substitute for up to two (2) years of job-related experience7+ years of infrastructure and operations experience in a technical role, including but not limited to: design, implementation, disaster recovery, network security architecture and engineering
Experience with Agile methodologies and Scrum is required
Experience in software development is required,Experience with cloud platforms like AWS or others
Experience with IaC at scale with tools like Terraform and ArgoCDExperience with Kubernetes
Experience with observability tools like Prometheus & Grafana or Datadog and New Relic
Experience with Linux, Windows platforms and active directory
Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to debug, troubleshoot, and self-diagnose issues in software development
