Senior Buyer for Indirect Materials

A Senior Buyer for Indirect Materials leads the sourcing, negotiation, and management of suppliers providing goods and services that support day-to-day business operations. This role is responsible for driving strategic sourcing initiatives, optimizing costs, and ensuring high-quality service delivery while maintaining strong vendor relationships and contract compliance. The Senior Buyer partners closely with cross-functional stakeholders to understand business needs, implement procurement strategies, and improve purchasing processes, while leveraging data and market insights to deliver value, mitigate risk, and support organizational goals.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute sourcing strategy for Indirect categories of about $50 million spend that will evolve based on business needs. Indirect spend categories include Safety Supplies, Forklifts, Uniforms, Office Supplies, Facilities Management, Travel and Shop Expenses.
• Collaborate with Operational Teams across NA Large Packaging and NA Small Packaging Business Unit to execute Indirect sourcing strategies as well as day to day operational needs.
• Identify, develop, & execute savings opportunities including, but not limited to supplier consolidation, RFQ, fact-based negotiations.
• Lead the negotiation of a commercial supply agreement (i.e. contract) with suppliers included within the sourcing strategy.
• Act as project manager and lead cross functional team to carry out project implementations.
• Foster collaborative and effective communication between supply base and internal stakeholders (i.e. operations, plant specific Purchasing personnel, quality, engineering, sales, etc.)

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain or Finance.
• Experience in Indirect category management with a medium to large size operations of at least 20 manufacturing plants.
• Project management skills are critical to be successful in the role
• Ability to multi task while able to prioritize key priorities to impact business results.
• Excellent in communication and ability to influence internal and external stakeholders
• High Energy Level, Quick Leaner, Curiosity
• Strong Desire to Achieve Results
• Demonstrated strong analytical skillset. Proficiency in Excel, Tableau.
• Fact-based & data driven in decision making process
• Leader to own & drive activities within cross-functional team
• 2-3 years of Strategic Sourcing experience
• 2-3 years of Procurement experience supporting the manufacturing industry
• 2-3years of Supplier Relationship Management experience
• 2-3 years of experience working within a cross functional team
• Be self-directed and manage multiple tasks without close supervision
