Here’s how you can help -- we are currently looking for a Social Media Specialist to join our team, rise to the challenge of empowering service, and fill a vital role in our Marketing Division. As a Social Media Specialist, you'll support the execution and day-to-day operations of Lions International’s global social media program by creating engaging content, managing publishing and community engagement, and executing integrated social media campaigns.
You'll collaborate with the Social Media Team Lead to bring social-first strategies to life through creative storytelling and audience engagement. You'll also demonstrates strong storytelling instincts byidentifyingmeaningful stories and translating them into engaging content across multiple social media platforms and formats. The Specialist will also maintain organized content workflows, digital assets, and publishing operations while staying current on emerging social media trends andidentifyingopportunities to enhance content performance.
Executes day-to-day social media publishing across all organizational platforms, ensuring timely,accurate, and engaging content delivery.
Creates compelling social media content, including copywriting, photography, short-form video, graphics, and platform-specific creative assets that support organizational priorities.
Captures photo and video content at organizational events and develops social-first content from concept through final published asset.
Collaborates with the Social Media Manager to execute integrated social media campaigns, programs, and initiatives.
Monitors social media communities by engaging with audiences, responding to comments and messages, and escalating issues as appropriate.
Maintains social media operations, including publishing schedules, content calendars, digital asset management, content libraries, and workflow documentation.
Organizes, tags, archives, andmaintainssocial media assets to support efficient content retrieval and long-term content management.
Supports live social media coverage for conventions and other organizational events.
Stays current on platform updates, emerging technologies, audience behaviors, and social media trends, proactivelyidentifyingopportunities to improve content performance and audience engagement.
Identifies and develops meaningful stories from member interactions, events, existing content, and social media conversations that align with Lions International’s mission and messaging.
Contributes creative ideas for social media content and independently develops concepts into finished creative assets for publication.
Assists with social media analytics, reporting, and platform optimization by monitoring performance andidentifyingopportunities for continuous improvement.
Collaborates with internal departments, volunteers, members, photographers, videographers, freelancers, and external partners to support content development and campaign execution.
Maintains knowledge of Lions International branding, messaging, and social media best practices to ensure consistent and effective communications.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Digital Media, or a related field. High school diploma withan equivalent combination of experience will also be considered.
Minimum 3 yearsof professional experience managing social media for a brand, organization, agency, or nonprofit.
