Program Specialist

More than 300 Lions International staff members are constantly working on tools and technology to enhance Lions' service.

Here's how you can help -- we are currently looking for a Program Specialist to join our Service Activities team, rise to the challenge of empowering service, and fill a vital role in our Service Programs and Initiatives Division.

As a Program Specialist, you'll develop, oversee, evaluate and improve service programs, initiatives and resources within the eight Lions International global causes (childhood cancer, diabetes, disaster relief, environment, humanitarian, hunger and vision). You'll collaborate with colleagues throughout the organization to promote these programs and initiatives to Lions and Leos around the world and support their volunteer service. You'll also monitor both Lion and Leo service impact, identifying and sharing successes and best practices.

What You'll Do:

  • Manage the full life cycle of various service programs and initiatives, including development, launch, maintenance and evaluation.
  • Maintain current knowledge of the Lions International global causes and trends related to volunteer humanitarian service to provide input on potential service engagement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Lions and Leos around the world to learn about their service activities and highlight their projects through case studies and promotional material.
  • Collaborate with the Lions International Marketing team on the creation and delivery of resources that support the service of Lions and Leos.
  • Ensure Lions and Leos are aware of service programs, initiatives and resources through the development of communication plans, collaboration with the field team (Global Action Team) on webinars and other stakeholder engagement, and collaboration with the Marketing team on campaigns and promotions.
  • Liaise with IT to ensure reporting products meet program needs. Pull and analyze service reporting data to measure program success, participation and insights. Prepare regular reports on program engagement and impact.
  • Conduct intake meetings with potential partners and evaluate partnership opportunities. Contribute to the development and maintenance of partnership plans that increase the service impact of Lions and Leos.
  • Support manager in preparation of board meeting materials, reports and budgetary requests related to service programs and initiatives.
  • Ensure quality customer service to Lions, Leos, LCI/LCIF staff and external partners, by maintaining organization standards related to the LCI mission and values.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

We're Looking for Someone With :

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Degree in nonprofit management, international development, business administration, communications or a related field is a plus. High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working with not-for-profit and / or membership organizations or associations.
  • Experience with project management skills, including organizational skills, critical thinking, attention to detail, research skills, ability to coordinate input from multiple sources for project completion, and ability to use data to make informed decisions about future program development.
  • Experience with program management, volunteer engagement, and / or communications is a plus.
  • Experience with humanitarian or social service or public health programming is a plus.
  • Experience with global trends related to humanitarian service. Knowledge of Sustainable Development Goals is a plus.
  • Experience with customer service skills, applying sensitivity to the unique needs of an international membership organization.
  • Experience with computer skills, including intermediate or better skills with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat, Salesforce and database applications.
  • Experience with writing and communication skills for drafting service project narratives, crafting promotions, composing and proofing correspondence and other written materials.

Compensation:
Exempt: $65,
