Work Shift: 12am-8:30am Monday - Saturday (5 Days)

The Target Pay for this position is $20.67 an hour. At Antech, pay decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, education, training and budget.

The Serology Lab Technician is responsible for testing blood and other samples for viral and bacterial disease by detecting antibodies (AB) or antigens (AG).

• Sets up and runs lab tests.
• Reads and releases test results.
• Collects and builds samples to load.
• Completes the Coggins Federal forms as required by the USDA.
• Performs routine and/or less complex tests as assigned.
• Exercises judgment in evaluating and reporting results.
• Reconciles pending and queue lists daily.
• Performs equipment maintenance and troubleshooting activities.
• Maintains knowledge of lab equipment and procedures.
• Complies with Quality Assurance policies and protocols.
• Maintains awareness of quality control and calibration.
• Consults with senior peers on non-complex tasks to learn through experience.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent required; 2- or 4-year degree in a science-related field preferred.
• Prior lab experience preferred.

• Laboratory skills with experience setting up, running, and reading lab tests and operating lab instruments.
• General science background.
• Attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in English for participation in meetings and data entry.
• Positive, can-do attitude.
• Personal computer skills, including strong typing and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
