Job Overview
As a Furniture Sales Colleague (Big Ticket Colleague), you will create exceptional shopping experiences in the Furniture department. Your responsibilities include building lasting customer relationships through personalized service, demonstrating deep product knowledge, and helping customers find furniture solutions that suit their lifestyles. You are expected to achieve sales goals, promote protection plans, manage return rates, and encourage engagement with the loyalty program.
Additionally, you support inventory and fulfillment activities, use technology to help customers visualize purchases and place orders, and remain current on product training through digital tools and vendor resources. Your commitment to service extends beyond the sale, maintaining contact throughout the delivery process and resolving any issues.
- Begin each day energized and ready to make an impact, greeting teammates and ensuring the sales floor is clean and organized.
- Review sales goals, learn about new arrivals, top-selling items, and current promotions before starting customer interactions.
- Offer a warm welcome, create friendly conversations, and build relationships to bring customers back.
- Maintain a shoppable space by recovering the floor, updating signs and pricing, and supporting merchandise moves.
- Share loyalty program benefits and finish each transaction with a sincere thank‑you while keeping follow‑up on pre‑ and post‑delivery processes.
- Support one another with honesty, care, and collaboration to better serve customers and the community.
- Flexible availability, including days, evenings, weekends and holidays with dependable attendance.
- Effective communication with customers, coworkers, and supervisors.
- Understanding and compliance with employment policies and safety rules/procedures in English.
- Comfortable with electronic devices and computers.
- 1‑2 years of related experience is required.
Physical Requirements
- Talking, lifting, constant moving, standing, and reaching with arms and hands.
- Standing for at least two hours, lifting up to 25 lbs., stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders.
- Close vision and color vision for operating technology and cash registers.
