General FunctionThe Team Lead creates exceptional value in the lives of customers & patients by delivering outstanding customer service. They ensure customers & patients are always delighted and assist in achieving store success by managing key optical & lab processes and systems to exceptional results.
Major Duties and ResponsibilitiesWhile working in Retail:
- Ensure the Lens Crafters team provides unsurpassed customer service.
- Proactively and accurately execute tasks with strong product knowledge.
- Assist customers with selections, provide recommendations, and support sales associates.
- Serve as a responsible alternate store key holder.
While working in Lab, if applicable:
- Custom fit glasses and precisely place prescriptions in lenses.
- Work with associates to strengthen their knowledge, skill, and certification for foundational product and store processes related to lens and lab technology.
- Ensure finished eyewear meets optical standards and customer requirements.
- Create a safe working environment for all, demonstrating safe work practices.
- Responsible for basic operation, cleaning, and ongoing maintenance of lab tools and systems.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Strong optical and retail experience.
- Knowledge of current optical theory and merchandise.
- Strong communicator and listener.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong basic math skills.
- Sales skills.
- Problem‑solving ability.
- Familiarity with cash registers, computers, and calculators.
- Leadership and training experience.
- Experience in edging and mounting.
- Basic optics knowledge and optical measurement experience.
- State licensure (if applicable) and/or ABO Certification in non‑licensed states.
- Lens Crafters Final Eyewear Inspector Certification.
- Lens Crafters Quality, Fitting & Adjusting Program.
- Optical machinery/instruments experience.
- Customer service experience.
- Accu Fit Digital Measurement System certification.
- Knowledge of current store merchandise and lens options.
Pay Range: $19.25 – $32.75 per hour. Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements. You may also be offered a competitive bonus and/or commission plan, complementing a first‑class total rewards package. Benefits may include health care, retirement savings, paid time off/vacation, and various employee discounts.
