Job Summary
Senior Sales Executive reports to Managing Director, Head of H&B Sales. Responsible for expanding business across national accounts, middle markets, small group markets, distribution channel, group insurance and specialty products. Develop relationships with broker/consultant communities and planning sponsors, manage all business development efforts including marketing, communications, training and competitive analysis. Must conduct market visits and travel to key markets. Holds 7+ years of sales and account management experience in the benefits, consulting or financial services industry.
Responsibilities- Build strong, productive relationships with brokers/consultants, customers and peers, focusing on larger or complex accounts.
- Implement strategies to achieve sales objectives in assigned areas.
- Manage complex negotiations.
- Position products, rate levels and expanded portfolios to increase sales and revenue.
- Integrate client and internal organization needs to meet installation requirements and close deals.
- Partner with clients across full product line.
- Understand clients' multifaceted needs and recommend appropriate benefits.
- Promote sales via in-person and virtual client meetings and industry conferences.
- Manage full sales process from lead to close.
- Create cross-selling opportunities by maintaining strong relationships with other lines of business.
- Maintain and update Salesforce with pipeline management after initial contact.
- Other duties as assigned.
- 7–10 years of experience in field sales, account management, benefits consulting or financial services.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Communications, Business, Marketing or related field.
- Strong financial industry experience with alternative assets (hedge funds, fund of funds, private equity, debt, marketplace lending).
- Business-to-business sales experience.
- Proven track record of sales success and extensive prospecting.
- Consultative selling skills, ability to provide solutions, negotiate and build relationships at all levels.
- Strong time management, organizational and planning skills.
- Ability to mobilize internal networks and resources.
- Leverage existing industry relationships.
- Excellent analytical skills with proactive nature.
- Attention to accuracy and efficiency.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Prioritization and multi-tasking aptitude.
- Interpersonal and collaboration skills.
- Drive to learn and apply new concepts quickly.
- Experience with Salesforce CRM preferred.
Base salary: $100,000–$126,000 per year. On-target earnings (OTE): $252,000+. Compensation varies by location, skills and experience and may include incentive and bonus opportunities.
