Department of Public Works Maintenance Worker I (Full-Time)

The Village of Oak Brook is seeking a full-time Maintenance Worker I to perform skilled and semi-skilled maintenance, repair, and installation work on Village roads, water and sewer systems, facilities, landscaping, and equipment. This role includes snow/ice removal and participation in after-hours emergency and on-call rotations.

Schedule:

Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and repair water mains, valves, hydrants, sewer lines, lift stations, and storm systems
• Maintain Village streets, pathways, signs, lighting, and concrete/asphalt surfaces
• Operate hand tools, vehicles, and heavy equipment (dump trucks, loaders, backhoes, etc.)
• Perform landscaping, irrigation, and forestry tasks
• Use email, spreadsheets, and GIS mapping tools
• Work in all weather conditions and perform heavy physical labor

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid Illinois driver’s license
• Illinois CDL Class A or ability to obtain within 180 days
• Excellent driving record
• Ability to perform physical labor in inclement weather
• Municipal or public works experience preferred
