Job Title: Intact Family Recovery Worker

Exempt/Non-exempt: NON-EXEMPT

Immediate Supervisor: Program Manager

Compensation Range: $52,416 - $57,416

Essential Functions
  • Primarily responsible for providing support and assistance to families where the mother requires immediate substance abuse treatment, ensuring access to appropriate resources and services.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of families referred by the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) to determine their needs and strengths.
  • Collaborate with Rincon Family Services and other treatment providers to facilitate the mother's enrollment in intensive substance abuse treatment programs, including in-patient care.
  • Coordinate transportation and logistics for children to remain with their family while the mother is in treatment, ensuring their safety and well‑being.
  • Offer counseling and emotional support to family members, including children, to help them cope with the challenges and stressors associated with substance abuse and recovery.
  • Develop and implement individualized service plans in collaboration with families, addressing their unique needs and goals for recovery and family stability.
  • Conduct regular check‑ins and follow‑up visits with families to monitor progress, provide ongoing support, and address any emerging issues or concerns.
  • Advocate on behalf of families to ensure access to necessary resources and services, including housing assistance, childcare, medical care, and legal support.
  • Collaborate with DCFS caseworkers, healthcare providers, legal advocates, and other professionals involved in the care of the family to ensure coordinated and comprehensive support.
  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date documentation of all interactions, assessments, service plans, and progress toward goals, in accordance with agency policies and procedures.
  • Participate in regular team meetings, case conferences, and trainings to enhance professional development and ensure effective coordination of services.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Ability Requirements
  • Thorough understanding of substance abuse disorders, treatment modalities, and recovery principles.
  • Knowledge of child welfare and family support services, including relevant laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for building rapport with families, collaborating with stakeholders, and advocating on behalf of clients.
  • Ability to conduct comprehensive assessments, develop service plans, and implement interventions tailored to the needs of each family.
  • Proficiency in crisis intervention, conflict resolution, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Familiarity with community resources and support services available to families, including housing assistance, childcare, healthcare, and legal advocacy.
  • Commitment to cultural competence and sensitivity in working with diverse populations, ensuring equitable access to services and support.
Education and Experience

Must have a Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field, with a preference for candidates holding a Master's degree. A minimum of 2 years of experience in substance abuse treatment, child welfare, family support, or related social services is required, providing the foundational knowledge and skills necessary for effectively supporting families impacted by substance abuse. The candidate should demonstrate a track record of working with families affected by substance abuse, showcasing their familiarity with trauma‑informed care principles and best practices for promoting recovery and family stability.

Additionally, relevant licensure or certification may be required based on state regulations, further enhancing the candidate's qualifications and ensuring compliance with professional standards. Successful candidates will have demonstrated experience collaborating with interdisciplinary teams and possessing strong advocacy skills, enabling them to effectively advocate for the needs of families and coordinate comprehensive support services.
