Program Analyst 1 – VESOY Coordinator
Join our team at the Oak Creek Youth Correctional Facility as a VESOY Coordinator! This role helps prepare older youth in the Vocation Education Services for Older Youth (VESOY) program for successful futures by providing career exploration, workforce development, and hands‑on learning opportunities. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, community partners, and employers, this position connects youth with meaningful work‑based learning experiences that build the skills, confidence, and experience needed for long‑term success.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and administer the Career and Technical Education program for VESOY youth.
- Build and maintain VESOY work programs on the Oak Creek Campus.
- Facilitate and teach NIOSH training and Safety Vignettes in collaboration with Unit Leadership Teams.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration, Behavioral or Social Sciences, or a related degree that demonstrates the capacity for the knowledge and skills; or any combination of experience or education equivalent to three years technical‑level experience that supports the knowledge and skill requirements listed for the classification.
Driver license required:
Driving is an essential function of this position. A valid driver license and an acceptable driving record are required. Driving record checks will be conducted on the final candidate(s).
- Experience teaching career and technical education curriculum and administering assessments.
- Knowledge and network of businesses willing to offer youth work experience.
- Ability to research and navigate the internet.
- Ability to motivate youth toward their post‑secondary education goals.
- Ability to implement, monitor, and assess career and technical education assessments, work programs, and curriculum.
- Experience recruiting volunteers to share their experiences/trades and educating youth on possible career tracks.
- Experience assisting with the transportation and supervision of youth or other client populations during off‑site educational, vocational, employment, recreational, or similar community‑based activities.
- Experience performing these duties within the Department of Corrections or a juvenile justice setting is preferred.
- Must be a positive role model for other staff and youth.
