The Senior Opportunity:
We are searching for a highly specialized Senior Wire EDM Process Lead to serve as a technical anchor for our Wire EDM department. This role demands extensive experience and technical mastery in programming, setup, and optimization of complex, high‑tolerance components. You will ensure compliance with the most rigorous industry standards (AS9100, ITAR) while optimizing production efficiency.
- Expert Programming & Setup: Utilize strong proficiency in CAD/CAM and EDM‑specific software to generate and refine complex Wire EDM programs, establish critical setups, and optimize machine run parameters (e.g., speed, feed, power).
- Process Engineering & Optimization: Troubleshoot and fine‑tune EDM processes to achieve consistent sub‑micron tolerances and superior surface finishes.
- On Exotic Materials (e.g., Inconel, Titanium) Technical Compliance: Ensure all procedures and final components adhere strictly to AS9100 quality systems and ITAR compliance regulations.
- Drawing Interpretation Mastery: Accurately interpret and execute instructions from complex aerospace drawings, including advanced Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and specifications.
- Mentorship & Quality Control: Guide junior machinists, perform first‑article inspections using advanced metrology, and ensure departmental quality output is maintained at world‑class levels.
- Minimum of 10 years of industry experience in manufacturing or precision machining, with skills in tool selection, setup, and maintenance.
- At least 5 years of hands‑on experience in Wire EDM programming, setup, and process optimization within the aerospace or defense sectors.
- Strong proficiency in CAD/CAM and EDM‑specific software.
- Working knowledge of AS9100 quality systems and ITAR compliance.
- Ability to accurately interpret complex aerospace drawings, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and specifications.
- Experience operating and maintaining Wire EDM equipment; experience with Agie/GF equipment is strongly recommended.
