Job Summary
The Maintenance Lead will oversee maintenance operations at a new, state-of-the-art baking facility, with a strong focus on equipment reliability, reduced downtime, and continuous improvement. This role is responsible for implementing Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM), Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), and Preventive Maintenance Optimization (PMO) to support Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
The Maintenance Lead will train, mentor, and supervise a team of 12–15 maintenance technicians while collaborating with production, engineering, and external contractors to drive operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and supervise 3rd-shift maintenance operations to ensure maximum equipment uptime
- Provide hands‑on technical support for mechanical, electrical, and automation‑related issues
- Coordinate with OEM vendors and millwright contractors for specialized maintenance and weekend servicing
- Assign work orders, prioritize maintenance activities, and ensure timely completion
- Enforce safety procedures and ensure compliance with plant and regulatory standards
- Implement and sustain RCM, RCFA, PMO, and TPM initiatives
- Develop and execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs
- Analyze equipment failures and downtime trends to drive continuous improvement
- Support CMMS usage and documentation of maintenance activities
- Troubleshoot and repair pumps, compressors, motors, gearboxes, bearings, belts, shafts, and hydraulic systems
- Perform disassembly, reassembly, and alignment of rotating equipment
- Apply predictive maintenance techniques including lubrication analysis, vibration monitoring, and wear assessment
- Use precision tools such as calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators
- Troubleshoot AC/DC motors, motor control circuits, and electrical power distribution systems
- Diagnose and repair electrical components including motor starters, relays, breakers, transformers, and control panels
- Perform preventive and predictive electrical maintenance using tools such as multimeters, megohmmeters, and thermal imaging
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
- Read and interpret PLC ladder logic, I/O, sensors, and indicator systems
- Support basic PLC troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley, Siemens)
- Provide basic support for robotic systems and EOAT (FANUC, ABB, KUKA, Universal Robots)
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in an industrial maintenance role
- At least 2+ years of experience in a maintenance leadership or lead role
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting background
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computer‑based systems
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Fluent in English (written and verbal)
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
