Position: Quality Technician (2nd Shift)

Job Summary

As a Quality Technician (2nd Shift), you will perform laboratory tests to determine the chemical and physical characteristics or composition of in-process batches, raw materials, and finished products for quality control, process control, or product development.

Location and Schedule

Onsite at the Oak Creek, WI plant. 2nd shift schedule is Monday‑Friday with a start time between 2 PM and 4 PM, working an 8.5‑hour shift.

Responsibilities
  • Verify formula and component specifications on batch tickets.
  • Set up, adjust, calibrate, and operate laboratory equipment and instruments such as paint guns, mixers, viscometers, chemical balances, pH meters, gloss meters, solids analyzer, spectrophotometer, and other equipment.
  • Test samples of manufactured products to verify conformity to specifications.
  • Record test results on batch tickets and in the company’s computer operating system.
  • Organize and maintain quality records and retain history of production batches.
  • Evaluate retain history of production batches in response to quality complaints.
  • Conduct incoming raw materials testing to ensure conformance to required specifications.
  • Perform routine production quality checks to ensure finished products are filled and packaged according to specifications.
  • Perform occasional quality audits of laboratory and production work instructions to ensure compliance with the company’s Quality Policy.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required;
    Bachelor’s degree in a technical or engineering field preferred.
  • Inspection, test, and product evaluation experience.
  • General knowledge of Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma methodologies preferred.
  • Ability to clearly identify and communicate issues that need to be addressed and to take necessary steps to avoid future errors.
