The Utility Worker Retail is responsible for performing general custodial duties to maintain Goodwill Retail store environment standards. This position provides a clean and safe environment for internal and external customers and donors.

• Efficiently completes the tasks on the daily, monthly or annual cleaning checklist as assigned.
• Assists in the donation center or in the store/outlet to provide additional coverage.
• Communicates to store management about any maintenance issues, need for supplies and suggests ideas for process improvement.
• Places product and supplies in the correct area according to store/outlet environment standards.
• Responsible for properly cleaning restrooms, windows and doors, dusting, vacuuming, emptying trash, and floor care, including sweeping, mopping and using a scrubber.
• Operates equipment and/or machinery correctly, safely and responsibly.
• Maintain the store environment standards to ensure a clean, friendly and safe environment for all internal & external customers.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Custodial experience preferred.
• Work varied schedule and flexible hours.

• Smiles and greets customers and donors.
• Appropriately manages downtime by working independently and responsibly.
• Contribute to the team by providing exceptional customer service answering questions and alerting management when customers need additional support.
• Projects a positive image of Goodwill to customers in actions and appearance.
• Maintain confidentiality of sales information.
• Contributes to the Goodwill Mission as a highly productive and collaborative member of the team.
• Basic reading and writing skills.

• Able to safely move throughout the property.
• Able to stand, bend, reach for duration of shift.
• Able to lift, push and pull a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Able to grasp merchandise.
• Able to visually observe merchandise.
• Able to hear and to respond to internal paging system and warning devices on custodial equipment and forklifts.

When determining placement within the salary range for this position Goodwill Greater Milwaukee & Chicago considers education, experience, internal equity, market demands and other qualifying criteria. It is not typical for individuals to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on facts and circumstances of each case.
