Summary
Under general supervision of the CITO, performs skilled work in maintenance trades with experience in our 21st Century Operations department. Trades include plumbing, electrical, carpentry, equipment repairs, HVAC, sprinklers, welding, locksmithing, and general repairs. This individual will provide a high level of customer service to all students, staff, and administration to keep the buildings operating at a high standard. The ability to work independently and as a team is required.
Assisting in project planning, scope of work, and quoting will be required s person must be a problem solver, a cost saver, and provide a high level of customer service and knowledge daily. Our organization follows the Six Sigma 5S method of organization.
- HVAC & BAS Maintenance:
Monitor and maintain Building Automation System (BAS) for optimal performance; perform routine inspections of boilers, valves, switches, water levels, and ventilation systems; replace and order air filters on a scheduled basis; maintain proper temperatures in all rooms and buildings; troubleshoot and repair HVAC components as needed. - Inventory & Technology:
Maintain accurate inventory of HVAC equipment, parts, and filters using Microsoft 365 and ; document existing HVAC assets and their condition; track projects and maintenance records digitally. - Planning & Compliance:
Collaborate on planning for large‑scale HVAC replacements and capital projects; assist with Health Life Safety compliance and documentation; support inspections and reporting for regulatory requirements. - General Maintenance:
Perform minor electrical repairs and troubleshooting; assist with snow plowing, salting, and creating safe outdoor spaces; support landscaping tasks such as tree care, mulch, and grounds upkeep. - Preventative Maintenance:
Implement preventative maintenance schedules for HVAC and other systems; ensure compliance with OSHA and district safety standards. - Work Order Management:
Use Incident
IQ and to manage tickets and tasks; maintain accurate logs of maintenance activities and temperature checks. - Other Duties:
Work with third‑party contractors as needed; provide custodial support when necessary.

- Standard principles, methods, materials, and equipment used in three or more of the skilled trades.
- Requirements for maintaining buildings and equipment in a safe, clean, and orderly condition.
- Preventative maintenance.
- Implementation of all safety precautions.
- Operation, use, and maintenance of powered equipment and heavy‑duty maintenance equipment.
- Be punctual (show up on time / leave on time).
- Plan and organize work – must be an organized individual.
- Promote team building and a positive work environment.
- Be flexible, exhibit integrity, exercise mature and good judgement.
- Perform heavy physical labor.
- Work with little to no supervision, but also on a team.
- Carry out oral and written instructions including tickets, blueprints, and plans.
- Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with everyone around you.
- The ability to travel between buildings—four buildings in total within a small geographic area. Mileage is provided when using a personal vehicle; work vehicles are available for the workday.
- Three (3) or more years’ experience in three or more of the maintenance trades at a journey level.
- Must have a good work and attendance history.
- Licenses, certifications, and testing.
- Pre‑employment physical and drug test.
- Fingerprint clearance for school personnel.
- Knowledge of cleaning methods, procedures, and safety issues.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- EPA 608 Certification required for handling refrigerants.
- Must pass pre‑employment physical, drug test, and fingerprint clearance.
- Must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to document solutions and resolutions into ticket/knowledge‑base system.
Physical DemandsLifting up to 50 lbs., bending, reaching, climbing including ladders, and continuous standing while working. May be exposed to dust, dirt, and chemicals. Work is both indoors and outdoors. May be exposed to inclement weather. The employee may be required to stand, walk, sit, kneel, and sit.
