Non-Exempt.

Work Schedule:

Full-Time, Day Shift. Compensation: $41.22 per hour.

Responsibilities
  • Perform environmental sampling, field testing, and document all findings including operating records, logs, and reports.
  • Conduct Wastewater, Storm Water Pollution Prevention, Used Oil/Mixed Fuel Collection, Hazardous Material / Hazardous Waste / Other Regulated Waste (HM/HW/ORW) collection and processing, Soil Reuse and Disposal Management, Universal Waste collection and processing, Oil and Hazardous Substance Spill Response and Cleanup, OHS Spill Drills as part of Facility Response Team, OHS Spill Reporting and Documentation, Spill Response Boat Launch.
  • Report Clean Air Act (CAA) and Air Emission Permit requirements as required.
  • Perform Petroleum Pressure Piping and Hoses Testing and Reporting.
  • Engage in Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure activities.
  • Maintain Underground Storage Tank (UST) documentation.
  • Support Clean Water Act activities, Storm Water Outfall Monitoring & Sampling, historically & cultural resource guideline compliance.
  • Collect, manage, and prepare hazardous waste containers for shipment per regulations.
  • Document and log hazardous waste collection and processing per the established system.
  • Secure and move heavy drums and containers with dollies and pallet jacks.
  • Inspect central accumulation facilities for labeling, profiling, and environmental compliance.
  • Perform industrial service operations such as tank cleaning, waste bulking, pressure washing of contaminated surfaces, hazmat cleaning, pump truck operations, demolition service in accordance with policies.
  • Document hazardous waste facility inspections to ensure Navy, State, and Federal compliance.
  • Inspect and maintain equipment for waste handling (tools, trucks, can crusher, etc.).
  • Assist customers in setting up satellite and less‑than‑90‑day storage sites.
  • Inspect collection sites for proper storage and labeling.
  • Record work order responses in Maximo, ensuring clarity for Navy.
  • Self‑inspect completed work to meet requirements.
  • Complete necessary forms, inspections, and documentation per Navy manuals, Tessera SOPs or regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain organized records.
  • Submit information per due dates; inspect Maximo records for trends requiring action.
  • Respond to non‑emergency and emergency response activities for chemicals, fuel, haz. waste, solid waste, water, septage; some within one hour on‑site.
  • Maintain HAZWOPER credentials and determine PPE requirements.
  • Participate in Facility Response Team (FRT) training as required for on‑water or land spills.
  • Maintain on‑call duty rotations (24 hr + weekends).
  • Respond to off‑duty environmental tasks, clean tanks, sumps, perform pump‑outs.
  • Work in confined spaces (tanks, vaults) and atmospheres with hazardous fuels or chemicals.
  • Assist in asbestos, lead, mold abatement, ASTs & USTs, and other assigned environmental projects.
  • Clean grease traps, septic tanks, oil‑water separators per specifications.
  • Drive snow plows or assist in snow removal as member of Tessera snow team.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor environmental programs supporting the Navy contract.
  • Ensure compliance with booked environmental tasks, applying SOPs or best practices; guide junior technicians.
  • Investigate and develop corrective actions for errors or potential violations.
  • Follow applicable federal, state, local laws, regulations, and Navy instructions.
