Job Overview
Environmental Sampling & Compliance Technician at Tessera Government Services located at Oak Harbor, Washington – Naval Air Station Whidbey Island. Non-Exempt, Full-Times. Base pay: $42.70 per hour. Responsibilities- Perform environmental sampling, field testing, and document findings for wastewater, storm water, used oil/mixed fuel collection, hazardous materials, soil reuse, universal waste, spill response, and compliance reporting.
- Conduct sampling as required by the Navy, coordinate with laboratory, issue purchase requests, ship samples, conduct QA/QC, and transmit results within specified time frames.
- Maintain sampling logs, prepare brief reports, and support Navy’s Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, and Storm Water programs.
- Collect, manage, and ship hazardous waste containers in compliance with federal, state, and Navy regulations. Prepare shipping manifests and packaging documentation.
- Assist in development and monitoring of environmental programs, investigate corrective actions, and perform inspections to ensure compliance.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Minimum 3 years’ related experience in environmental sampling.
- Commercial driver’s license (CDL) required.
- Proficient in Maximo, MS Outlook, Word, Excel.
- Strong communication, independent work, and organizational skills.
- U.S. citizen or eligible to work and required security clearances.
Must be able to lift or move up to 70 pounds, reach, kneel, walk, stand, and perform repetitive motions. May require climbing in/out of vehicle and stairs.
