Position: Aircraft Logs and Records Technician with Security Clearance

Overview

Clearance:
Active DoD Secret clearance required. Primary Shift: Day shift, subject to operational requirements. Strategic Technology Institute, Inc. is seeking an Aircraft Logs and Records Technician to support ALQ-99 Tactical Jamming System (TJS) maintenance administration, logbooks, records, and electronic maintenance reporting for U.S. Navy Fleet Readiness Center Northwest (FRCNW) at NAS Whidbey Island. This role supports ALQ-99 TJS status reporting, technical directive compliance tracking, Support Equipment Planned Maintenance System records, AESR/logbook support, maintenance data entry/retrieval, records accuracy, and reports required by FRCNW/COR.

The position works closely with maintenance technicians, the Site Supervisor, Government maintenance representatives, and production/maintenance control personnel to ensure ALQ-99 records are complete, accurate, timely, and compliant with applicable Navy aviation maintenance procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain ALQ-99 TJS logbooks, AESR/associated records, and other maintenance records in accordance with customer direction, CNAFINST 4790.2/NAMP, NAMPSOPs, and local procedures.
  • Perform data entry, retrieval, error correction, report preparation, filing, typing, correspondence, and maintenance administration support related to ALQ-99 maintenance.
  • Support ALQ-99 TJS status reporting, situational reports, periodic reports, Technical Directive compliance records, Support Equipment PMS records, and ad hoc reports approved by the COR.
  • Use or support required Navy systems and data sources such as OOMA, NALCOMIS, NALDA, NATEC, OIMA, AMPS, ASM, or successor systems as directed.
  • Coordinate with electronics technicians, supply/material control personnel, the Site Supervisor, Government maintenance representatives, and program personnel to ensure maintenance actions and records match required technical data, work orders, logs, and electronic entries.
  • Support certification procedures for ALQ-99 TJS logbook entries and records-related processes as required by the customer, including contractor employee logbook certification designation procedures when applicable.
  • Track or support records associated with scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, WRA/SRA inspections, Technical Directives, SE PMS, ready-for-issue production, first-pass quality, post-functional test inspection, final inspection, and maintenance action documentation.
  • Perform networking/data coordination functions between individual stations or systems as directed, including identification, analysis, and correction of errors caused by software, hardware, or data entry.
  • Create archives, backups, data saves, and management reports when required for maintenance administration, operational reporting, or records retention.
  • Comply with security, PII/CUI, records management, safety, NAMP/NAMPSOP, local work-center, and base access requirements.

This role maintains aircraft and engine logbooks and associated records; performs operator, data entry, and retrieval functions associated with aircraft recordkeeping; performs networking functions between individual stations, including analysis and correction of errors caused by software, hardware, or data entry; transmits and receives data by electronic means; extracts data and prepares management reports; creates archives, backups, and data saves; and performs clerical and administrative duties related to aircraft maintenance such as reports, correspondence, filing, typing, database work, and systems analysis.

Required Qualifications
  • Active DoD Secret clearance required.
  • U.S. citizenship; ability to maintain Secret eligibility, obtain/maintain CAC, and meet NAS Whidbey Island base access requirements.
  • Aircraft logs and records, Navy maintenance administration, aviation maintenance data systems, maintenance control, records management, or comparable technical records experience.
  • Ability to maintain accurate logbooks, AESR/associated records, maintenance records, status reports, Technical Directive records, Support Equipment PMS records, and related data in accordance with Navy procedures.
  • Ability to use maintenance data systems and standard office software to enter, retrieve, analyze, correct, archive, and report maintenance information.
  • Ability to complete required Naval Aviation Maintenance Control Management/OOMA course or equivalent site-specific training/qualification requirements.
  • Ability to work day shift and support schedule changes or occasional weekend/holiday work if operationally required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with OOMA, NALCOMIS, NALDA, NATEC, OIMA, AMPS, ASM, SHARP, ALQ-99, Navy aviation maintenance administration, CNAFINST 4790.2/NAMP, AESR/logbooks, SE PMS records, or Technical Directive compliance tracking.
  • Prior Navy/Marine Corps AZ, maintenance administration, production control, maintenance control, or logs and records experience.
