Structures Mechanic – EA-18G Modification
This long-term, full-time position focuses on modifying, repairing, and maintaining military jet aircraft, with an emphasis on EA-18G and F/A-18 platforms. You will support the installation of structural and systems upgrades, including offensive systems enhancements and weight reduction modifications, while working from technical data and collaborating closely with other skilled aviation professionals.
Responsibilities- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, task cards, and technical manuals to plan and execute work on aircraft structures and systems.
- Remove, repair, modify, and install aircraft structural components, including skins, frames, panels, and related assemblies, in accordance with approved data.
- Perform removal, installation, and modification of electrical, rigging, and other aircraft systems as required to support structural and systems upgrades.
- Use hand and power tools safely and effectively to complete structural repairs, modifications, and installations on military aircraft.
- Apply knowledge of military aircraft systems and structures, particularly F-18 and EA-18G platforms, to ensure high-quality workmanship and compliance with standards.
- Support the installation of offensive systems upgrades and weight reduction modifications on military jet aircraft.
- Ream and step up holes accurately to specified tolerances to prepare for fastener installation and structural assembly.
- Follow all maintenance, repair, and modification procedures to ensure airworthiness and adherence to regulatory and customer requirements.
- Work collaboratively with leads and other team members to meet production schedules and quality expectations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and comply with all safety, security, and base access requirements while working on the military installation.
- At least 4 years of depot or heavy maintenance experience focused on aircraft structures.
- Hands-on experience performing structural repairs, maintenance, and modifications on aircraft airframes.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings, task cards, and technical manuals.
- Demonstrated ability to remove, repair, modify, and install structural, electrical, rigging, and related aircraft systems.
- Experience using a wide range of hand and power tools for aircraft structural work.
- Specific experience reaming and stepping up holes to precise tolerances on aircraft structures.
- Working knowledge of military aircraft systems and structures, with emphasis on jet aircraft.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain access to a military base.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Boeing badge.
Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience working on F-18 or EA-18G aircraft, highly preferred.
- Experience supporting installation of avionics, structural, and systems modifications on military aircraft.
- Familiarity with maintenance and modification work in a depot or heavy maintenance environment.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and work effectively under the direction of multiple leads, including client and prime contractor leads.

WorkEnvironment
This position is based on a military installation, working primarily in hangars with some tasks on the flightline. The schedule is a day shift, Monday through Friday, with 8-hour shifts and occasional Saturdays as needed. The work takes place mostly indoors, limiting exposure to the elements, and tools are supplied on site.
