Part-Time Youth Services Page, Grade I

Youth Services Department

The Oak Lawn Public Library has an opening for a part-time Youth Services Page, Grade I, Step 1 in the Youth Services Department.

• Shelves and maintains order of library materials, performs basic public service, and performs routine clerical work related to a public service area or support service area.
• The nature of assigned tasks and responsibilities will depend, in part, upon the number of hours scheduled.
• Shelve library materials according to library organization, including alphabetization and the Dewey Decimal System.
• Regularly review materials on library shelves to ensure proper placement (shelf read).
• Assist with overall appearance of the department.
• Perform other tasks assigned by department supervisor.

Minimum age requirement of 16 or older;
Interest and ability in working with the public;
Communicate effectively both orally and in writing;
Ability to work independently and with attention to detail;
Ability to work with standard computer applications;
Schedule includes evenings and weekends
