Base pay range

$37.50/hr - $56.25/hr

Major Responsibilities
  • Positioning of patients and proper selection of technical factors and equipment to obtain scans of optimal quality, making use of any necessary immobilization techniques
  • Delivery of patient care in accordance with department standards of continued quality improvement
  • Documentation for department records to ensure adequate supplies and proper patient records
  • Responsible for securing pertinent history from the patient for each procedure, to provide the radiologist with adequate information before film interpretation
  • Compliance with established Accrediting Organization and hospital safety standards to ensure patient and staff well being at all times
  • Instruction and assistance as required by students or fellow technologists orientating in ultrasound
Education/Experience Required
  • ARDMS Registry eligible. ARDMS Registry to be successfully completed within first year of employment.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
  • Possess high degree of technical knowledge to perform more specialized U/S studies with minimal amount of assistance from Radiologist.
  • Able to make diagnostic judgments when scanning and present them to the Radiologist for their interpretation.
  • ARDMS Registry eligible. ARDMS Registry is to be successfully completed within first year of employment.
  • CPR Certification
Physical Requirements And Working Conditions
  • Ability to adjust to flexible hours at minimal notice as required and to work odd hours (late hours on-call) with the ability to respond to emergency call back in minimal time
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and to perform lifting activities related to patients
  • Exposure to radiation and to operate portable equipment
  • Ability to communicate with patients and to participate in on-call program and department needs with minimal notice
  • Lift requirements: up to 35 pounds without assistance for patient care; for heavier lifts, use patient handling equipment with assistance as needed
