We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Surgical Scheduler to join our ophthalmology office in Oak Lawn, IL. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating and scheduling surgical procedures, ensuring smooth communication between patients, surgeons, and clinical staff.

• Schedule surgical procedures for patients in an ophthalmology setting.
• Coordinate with surgeons, clinical staff, and patients to confirm surgery dates and times.
• Verify patient insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for surgery.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date surgical schedules and patient records.
• Communicate pre-operative instructions and answer patient questions regarding surgery scheduling.
• Collaborate with surgical centers and hospitals to ensure availability and proper documentation.
• Assist with rescheduling or cancellations as needed, ensuring minimal disruption to the surgical calendar.

• Previous experience as a Surgical Scheduler, preferably in an ophthalmology office.
• Strong knowledge of surgical scheduling processes and medical terminology related to ophthalmology.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) and scheduling software.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional medical administrative training is a plus.
