Overview
Join Advocate Health Care as a Mammography Technologist. You will perform screening and diagnostic mammograms on physician‑referred or self‑recommended patients, ensuring high image quality and patient safety.
Base Pay Range$34.90/hr - $52.35/hr
Responsibilities- Perform screening and diagnostic mammograms according to clinical protocols and MQSA Quality Guidelines.
- Deliver patient care in accordance with department standards; adapt to customer and department needs.
- Ensure images are properly labeled and apply radiation protection standards.
- Select technical factors for digital image capture and secure or arrange for mammography films performed elsewhere.
- Document patient history and clinical information in Pen Rad and record procedure information; verify correct procedure charge entry.
- Review previous mammographic reports and digital images to establish insight for current study performance.
- Prepare current images for dictation, ensuring proper image identification and scanning orders into PACs.
- Provide pre‑procedure, procedure and post‑procedure education and instruction to the patient.
- Participate in advanced mammographic procedures such as wire localizations, galactograms, stereotactic biopsy and specimen radiographs.
- Maintain patient modesty and confidentiality throughout the visit and properly label and identify specimens.
- Perform mammography equipment quality control and quality assurance tests established to meet MQSA standards.
- Adhere to safety practices, reporting issues through established channels and participating in safety initiatives.
- Graduate of an approved AMA Radiologic Technology Program.
- Completion of training in Mammography specialty.
- Knowledge of breast anatomy and mammography positioning.
- Registered in Mammography‑ARRT (M) and IDNS License.
- Good verbal and written communication skills; ability to handle anxious and fearful patients.
- Demonstrated technical skills as a mammographer.
- Physical ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance; use patient handling equipment when necessary.
- Maintain CPR certification and professional decorum, adhering to dress code.
Must be female, enjoy working with women in health; adapt to a rapidly changing environment and growing patient volume.
