Guest Services Supervisor – Hilton Chicago/Oak Lawn IL

We’re looking for an experienced Guest Services Supervisor to oversee front desk operations and ensure all guest issues are resolved promptly and courteously.

Job Purpose

Respond to arriving, departing and in‑house guests with accurate, timely information and services. Support the Front Office Manager in ensuring smooth operations and resolving guest concerns.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet and welcome guests upon arrival and register them into the computer system.
  • Verify reservations, address and credit information and promote the “preferred” guest program.
  • Accept payment at registration and at checkout, maintain the house bank, and produce accurate daily reports.
  • Issue keys and control access to safety‑deposit boxes; post miscellaneous charges as requested.
  • Promptly address and resolve guest complaints.
  • Answer telephone calls politely, courteously, and efficiently.
  • Take reservations, check‑ins and check‑outs efficiently and accurately.
  • Assist with shuttle or transportation services, if applicable.
  • Assist guests with luggage, local area information, hotel services, wake‑up calls, mail, fax, laundry/dry‑cleaning and VIP arrivals.
  • Follow all applicable company SOPs and report any issues to management.
  • Maintain open communication with all departments and provide pertinent information.
  • Attend to security responsibilities: handle keys, emergency procedures and security concerns.
  • Actively promote and sell rooms, re‑rents and hotel amenities to increase revenue.
  • Ensure all customers establish credit at check‑in and adhere to all inventory control procedures.
  • Maintain accurate shift‑closing reports, log books and bulletins.
  • Assist other departments during emergency situations.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills in the primary workplace language.
  • Basic computer skills and computational ability.
  • Extensive knowledge of hotel services, local attractions, and venue facilities.
  • Ability to stand for up to 4 hours; lift up to 15 lbs occasionally.
  • Good visual acuity and manual dexterity to operate office equipment.
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Strong problem‑solving, reasoning and training abilities.
