APN, Advanced Practice Nurse, Cardiology, Oak Lawn - Full Time
Advocate Health Care is seeking a qualified Advanced Practice Nurse to provide advanced cardiac nursing services at our Oak Lawn location. This full‑time role will work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to manage patient care and support departmental goals.
Base Pay Range$53.80/hr – $80.70/hr (dependent on skills and experience)
Major Responsibilities- Assess, diagnose, and determine/alter treatment and management plans appropriate for age, acuity and clinical condition.
- Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic studies and provide pharmacologic and non‑pharmacologic therapies.
- Manage conditions using evidence‑based, cost‑effective care and risk/benefit assessment.
- Provide health promotion, disease prevention and disease management counseling and education to patients and families.
- Work as part of an interdisciplinary team, seeking physician or other team member consultation or referrals as appropriate and escalating need for more emergent or specialized care when necessary.
- Maintain accurate, complete, concise, and timely documentation in the electronic medical record and support compliant coding and billing practices.
- Facilitate consistent, coordinated care and clear communication among all members of the healthcare team and community agencies.
- Perform office or hospital procedures in accordance with specialty practice and granted privileges where applicable.
- Participate in quality, safety, peer review initiatives, organizational and departmental meetings and committees.
- Participate in education and onboarding of new team members, students and other health care professionals.
- Seek experiences to maintain and develop clinical and professional skills and advance the profession within and outside the organization.
- Maintain standards of productivity, access, face‑to‑face time, and quality metrics to ensure optimal, safe and timely patient care delivery.
- Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served and apply growth and development principles over the life span.
Active RN and APRN/APRN‑FPA/APNP or other APRN license(s) in state(s) of practice; active national board certification in area of clinical practice and populations served; active DEA registration prior to hire; if Illinois practice, active Illinois Controlled Substance License prior to hire; active BLS and/or ACLS, PALS, NRP as required by clinical practice prior to or within 6 months of hire.
Minimum Education and ExperienceMaster’s Degree in Nursing. No experience required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- High level of clinical proficiency and excellent decision‑making skills.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of an effective health care team.
- Adaptability to evolving technology and proficiency with electronic medical record.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate and build relationships.
- Proven organizational skills and ability to prioritize effectively.
- Stand, walk, bend, stoop, and twist continuously throughout the workday.
- Functional speech, vision, touch, and hearing.
- Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist; lift up to 20 lbs over the head; carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance.
- Operate all equipment necessary to perform the job.
