Travel RN - Pediatric ICU

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Pediatric ICU position requiring IL licensure, 2 years of PICU experience, and willingness to float between two campuses.

• Active IL RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of PICU RN experience required
• BLS and PALS certifications required; NRP highly preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
• Candidate's middle name or initial, date of birth, and last 4 of SSN required for consideration

• Pediatric ICU/PCICU unit at a children's hospital with 19-23 beds and an average daily census of 15-18 patients
• RN to patient ratio of 2:1
• Patient population includes respiratory, congenital heart disease, hematology/oncology, post-op, and trauma cases
• 12-hour night shift schedule (7p-7a), 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend rotation required
• Holiday coverage as needed by the unit
• Required to float between PICU/PCICU, NICU, and General Pediatrics across both Oak Lawn and Park Ridge campuses
• No on-call or call-back requirements
• Uses Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing system, and Med Sonic monitors
• Work within a Level 1 trauma designated, teaching hospital with Stroke Center and Chest Pain Center designations
• Unit culture emphasizes teamwork and a friendly environment
• Department support includes CNAs, receptionist, charge nurse, in-house phlebotomy, IV team, resource nurse, and tele tech
• 24/7 support available from RT, hospitalist, and intensivist staff
• Orientation includes NEO plus 2 days of departmental orientation in the PICU
• Navy scrubs required; free parking provided
• Previous travel experience not required, making this suitable for first-time travelers
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate with no radius rules
• Former Advocate Health employees must be separated for at least 12 months before becoming eligible for a travel assignment
