Position

Steward – Hilton Chicago/Oak Lawn, Oak Lawn, IL

Pay: $17.00/hr – $19.00/hr, based on skills and experience.

• Operate dishwasher to properly clean all dishes and cooking utensils used in kitchens, restaurants, and banquets.
• Scrub pots and restock all supplies in assigned areas.
• Perform general kitchen cleaning duties, including cleaning and mopping kitchen floors and trash removal.
• Wash dishes, pots, and other kitchen utensils; restock clean glasses, silverware, and plates.
• Maintain hygiene standards in compliance with health department requirements.
• Store food stock, dry goods, and other items in proper locations, following first‑in, first‑out rotation.
• Remove trash from all containers and transport to dumpster at loading dock.
• Work varying schedules to meet business needs of the hotel.

• Perform general/routine cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products to meet health standards.
• Execute special guest requests and clean unexpected spills as needed.

• Good working knowledge of accepted sanitation standards.
• Knowledge of operating a dishwasher, floor stripper, and buffer.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English; read labels and communicate with team members.
• Ability to work in confined spaces and under extreme temperature ranges.
• Manual dexterity to load and unload dishwasher and handle kitchen equipment, knives, and blades.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Some work experience in a related field, preferably hospitality, preferred.

Frequency of physical activities:
Sitting rare; walking constant; climbing stairs frequent; crouching/bending/stunting frequent; reaching frequent; grasping constant; pushing/pulling frequent; lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs frequent; travel never. Visual, hearing, speaking, and smelling abilities as required.
