What We’re Looking For This role is best suited for an engineer who is comfortable working beyond traditional ETL and analytics. We are looking for someone who can work across data engineering and backend development to build the infrastructure and services required for modern AI applications.

The successful candidate should be comfortable connecting data, APIs, tools, and enterprise systems to LLMs and AI agents and helping take those solutions from prototype through production.

Overview We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer with strong backend engineering expertise to support the development of enterprise Generative AI and agentic solutions. This role will focus on building scalable data infrastructure, backend services, integrations, and data pipelines that enable AI applications, agents, and Model Context Protocol (MCP)-based solutions.

The ideal candidate combines traditional data engineering experience with strong software engineering fundamentals and hands-on experience building backend systems that connect AI applications to enterprise data, APIs, tools, and services.

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and backend services supporting Generative AI and machine learning applications.
• Develop backend APIs, services, and integrations that connect AI agents and applications with enterprise systems and data sources.
• Build and maintain Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers and integrations that enable AI applications and agents to securely access tools, services, and enterprise data.
• Support the development of AI agents and agentic workflows, including tool integration, orchestration, and data access.
• Design and implement secure integrations between LLM-powered applications and enterprise systems, including authentication, authorization, identity propagation, and governance controls.
• Build reliable ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and unstructured data used by AI and ML applications.
• Develop Python-based backend components and services for production AI applications.
• Design data models and data access patterns optimized for AI/ML and GenAI use cases.
• Integrate applications with REST APIs, databases, cloud services, and internal enterprise platforms.
• Implement appropriate authentication, authorization, logging, monitoring, error handling, and data security practices.
• Optimize backend services and pipelines for scalability, reliability, performance, and maintainability.
• Collaborate with ML Engineers, LLM Engineers, Software Engineers, Solution Architects, and product teams to move AI solutions from development into production.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, documentation, deployment, and ongoing production support.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, backend engineering, software engineering, or a related role.
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Strong experience developing backend services and APIs, including REST-based integrations.
• Experience designing and building scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows.
• Hands-on experience with data processing and orchestration technologies such as Apache Spark, Airflow, or Argo.
• Experience working with cloud platforms, preferably AWS, and cloud-based data technologies such as Redshift or equivalent platforms.
