Substitute Administrative Assistant – Oak Park Elementary District 97
We are seeking a dynamic Substitute Administrative Assistant to join our district office. In this role, you will provide comprehensive administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of district-wide functions, aligning with our equity commitments as outlined in Board Policy 7:12.

As a Substitute Administrative Assistant, you will provide complex and confidential administrative assistance to an assigned department/area; convey information regarding the functions and procedures; and ensure efficient operations and systems of support in a customer‑centered, policy‑guided manner.

- Maintain a wide variety of manual and electronic document files and records (budget data, employee records, financial records, reports, etc.) for up‑to‑date information and historical reference.
- Monitor activities on behalf of assigned administrator(s) (program components, meetings, account balances, work order status) to meet goals and target dates in compliance with guidelines and regulations.
- Answer phone calls and provide assistance to parents and school staff.
- Create written district communications.
- Assist with the creation and maintenance of state and federal reports and grants.
- Perform other duties as assigned by administration.
- Excellent organization and communication skills.
- Self‑starter with strong detail orientation and quality focus.
- Strict observance of deadlines and willingness to give required effort.
- Ability to plan workload while keeping multiple deadlines.
- Manages time, prioritizes tasks, and works efficiently.
- Team player with excellent multi‑tasking skills.
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
- Previous administrative experience (required).
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Proficient in Google Suite (Docs, Forms, Sheets).
- Experience with Illinois State Board of Education data collection systems and reporting (preferred).
Hourly rate: $23.98 per hour.
Contract type:
Non‑Exempt.
Reports to:
Building Administration | District‑wide location.

SY 25‑26.
