**** POSITION**: PEDIATRIC DENTIST
*
* HOURS:

** This is a part-time position
** BASIC FUNCTION:
** To meet the preventative, restorative and educational needs of the IWS Children’s Clinic high needs patient population.
** REPORTS TO**:
Oral Health Director
** PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
*** Meet the professional, ethical and moral standards of the American Dental Association.
* Obtain accurate and thorough data on each patient though medical histories, study models and radiographs.
* Examine, evaluate, and treat each patient who comes under his/her care.
* Provide preventive, therapeutic and restorative dental care.
* Refer patients when treatment modalities are not available at the clinic.
* Maintain a sterile/disinfected environment in the delivery of oral care.
* Educate the patient and parent/guardian in the prevention of dental caries and other dental conditions.
* Attend and participate in meetings of the Clinic Staff.
* Provide input on the performance, technical skills of the dental auxiliary staff.
* Maintain the spirit of team work in the effort to provide a caring respectful environment for the patient, families and clinic staff.
* Responsible for performing other duties as assigned.
** KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES**:

Must be comfortable interacting with all levels of staff and the public. Must be proficient in the examination and treatment of patients according to the standards of the American Dental Association. Knowledge of Spanish a plus.
** POSITION REQUIREMENTS**:

Licensed specialist in Pediatric Dentistry. D.D.S. or D.M.D with a current Illinois license. Minimum of two years experience in a pediatric dental setting and prior teaching experience preferred and credentialed Medicaid provider in network with multiple MCOs.Job Type: Part-time
