Guest Teacher​/per period

Day to Day Guest Teacher ($30/per period)  at Oak Park and River Forest High School (OPRFHS). This is a substitute teacher position on a school-year calendar, with daily, as-needed assignments. Regular day hours are 7:45 am to 3:15 pm. Long-Term Daily Rate is $250 retroactive to the first day after 20 days on the same assignment. FLSA status:
Exempt. An orientation is required before you can begin substituting. Applications are submitted through the District’s online application system.

• Create and maintain a respectful and fair classroom culture that fosters safe and productive learning.
• Monitor, observe and report student behavior according to OPRFHS policies and procedures.
• Follow regular teachers’ lesson plans in a way that ensures consistency and optimal learning, and encourages student participation.
• Assign classwork and homework as necessary, according to lesson plans.
• Maintain a well-managed classroom and positive learning environment.
• May require traveling to multiple classrooms based on assignment.
• Take accurate attendance electronically.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Valid Substitute License or Professional Educator's License (preferred).
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Flexibility to substitute for various subject areas.
• Availability to work on a regular basis.
• Substituting/classroom experience is preferred.
• All substitute teachers must pass an Illinois State Police and FBI background check (at the District’s expense) and must complete a physical exam (at the employee’s expense within first 30 days of employment).
