The Director of Public Programs & Audience Engagement creates and implements in-person and virtual adult programming on topics related to Frank Lloyd Wright, architecture, design, the arts, and American culture. Works in collaboration with Trust Communications Office, Development / Membership, Trust Preservation Architect, IT and other key staff who support programming. Participates in grant‑writing for programs and education. Supervises education staff.
Plans and manages program and education budget and ensures timely invoicing and payment for expenses.
- Creates long‑range programming objectives that include a variety of content and that appeal to varied audiences. Tracks local and national trends in programming. Plans annual programming general content and schedule with CEO.
- Creates and implements in‑person and virtual programs working with Communications Office on audience objectives and engagement, and other related departments that support programs. Conducts evaluation summaries of programs.
- Working with Development department, participates in grant‑writing related to programs and education and prepares final grant reports on funded programs.
- Prepares annual department budget, tracks expenditures, and manages programs and education within the established budget.
- Explores opportunities for program partnerships with other local, regional and national non‑profit organizations.
- Supervises education staff programs for youth and families.
- Incorporates Trust member benefits into programming.
- As a team member of the Trust, demonstrates positive interpersonal skills that promote open communication and respect for all positions, maintenance of confidentiality and contribute to the success of the organization.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in education, arts management, art history, art/architecture, or American cultural history.
- Related post‑graduate training or credentials desirable.
- 5‑7 years experience managing programs with a successful track record in a non‑profit setting.
- Supervisory experience.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Strong writing, speaking, and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with virtual programming.
- Proactive and collegial.
- Ability to travel to all Trust’s sites as needed.
