Compensation: $150/day paid via Edustaff
Qualifications- Valid Michigan teaching certificate preferred OR Eligible for a Daily Substitute Permit
- Substitute teaching experience preferred
- Early Childhood experience preferred
Berkley School District is looking for Permanent Building Substitute Teachers to support in-person learning at various buildings in our District. Permanent Building Substitute Teachers will report daily to their assigned school and take on classroom duties in case of a daily or extended teacher absence. Permanent Building Substitute Teachers are responsible for teaching prepared lessons or preparing their own instructional materials.
The main duty of Permanent Building Substitute Teachers is to ensure that students receive the required instruction according to the school's curriculum. They may also need to maintain student records regarding grades and attendance, assign and grade homework and class assignments, and consult with administrators on their responsibilities during the primary teacher's absence. They will be responsible for implementing the high scope curriculum, as well as utilizing Procare for family communication.
This role requires excellent organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to interpret prepared lessons and successfully instruct students using these materials.
