Job Skills / RequirementsWe are seeking a vigilant and proactive School Security Officer to safeguard students, staff, and visitors within educational environments. This position involves maintaining a secure campus through vigilant surveillance, access control, and emergency response.
Requirements:
- MUST BE ABLE TO PASS A 12-PANEL DRUG SCREEN
- High school diploma or GED
- Clean background check
- Driver's license or State I.D.
- Strong communication and decision-making skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure
Duties
- Monitor school premises and conduct regular patrols to identify potential security risks
- Control access points by verifying identitie checks on visitors and contractors
- Respond swiftly to incidents or emergencies, including medical emergencies, conflicts, or security breaches
- Write detailed incident reports documenting any security concerns or occurrences during shifts
- Perform manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting when necessary for equipment or supplies
- Operate emergency response procedures including AED (Automated External Defibrillator) operation, CPR, and fire safety protocols
- Manage access control systems to ensure authorized entry while maintaining a secure environment
Preferred Experience
- Prior experience in security, law enforcement, military service, or related fields highly preferred
- Training in first aid, CPR, AED use.
- Familiarity with conflict de-escalation, conflict management, and emergency response procedures
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally in high-pressure situations
