Navarro Research and Engineering is recruiting a Senior Accountant in Oak Ridge, TN.

Navarro is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to support corporate accounting operations in a government contracting environment. This role plays a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable, ensuring multi-state tax compliance, and supporting month-end close activities using Deltek Costpoint. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working in a regulated, audit-ready environment.

• Maintain accurate general ledger accounts in compliance with GAAP
• Perform day-to-day accounting functions within Deltek Costpoint;
  Quick Books knowledge is a plus
• Ensure accurate cost coding and compliance with company policies and federal regulations
• Process accounts payable transactions, ensuring accuracy, proper approvals, and timely payment
• Ensure AP practices comply with internal controls and audit standards
• Payroll processes (a plus)
• Knowledge of FAR travel regulations
• Prepare and file state and local tax returns, including sales/use tax, gross receipts, and other applicable state filings
• Support audits or inquiries related to state and local tax matters
• Support internal controls, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP and company standards

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Hands-on experience with Deltek Costpoint (required)
• Strong experience with accounts payable and general ledger accounting
• Demonstrated experience with multi-state tax compliance and filings
• Due to the nature of the government contract requirements and/or clearance requirements, US citizenship is required.
