Administrative/Clerical
1. Greet the public when they come in the Agency and Credit Union, determine their needs, and direct them to the appropriate person. Answer phone lines and direct callers to the appropriate person.
2. Data entry all referrals and update electronic files as directed. Prepare referrals for quoting.
3. Provide confidential administrative support to management and staff. Compose letters and memorandums, written documents and files, and edit written communications when necessary.
4. Maintains assigned records, files, and reports. Assists in the preparation of assigned reports.
5. Collects and prepares information for use in meetings and coordinates meetings.
6. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
7. Support needs both within and outside the department, as time allows.
Education/ Experience- One month to twelve months of similar or related experience.
- A high school education or GED.
Skills and Abilities
- Must have excellent communications skills with the ability to interact both face to face, electronically and over the telephone with members and coworkers.
- Excellent organizational and editing skills.
- Ability to prioritize work without directions from supervisor in situations where ongoing changes occur.
- MS Office, keyboard and 10 key calculator, multi-line phone system.
- Work normally involves contacts with persons beyond immediate associates generally regarding routine matters for purposes of giving or obtaining information which may require some discussion.
- Outside contacts take the form of service to the public (members or vendors) requiring ordinary courtesy in providing assistance and information.
- Answer the telephone in a professional manner within 2 rings directing calls to the appropriate party and gather pertinent information.
- Announce each visitor before directing them to the appropriate party.
- Provide accurate, professional administrative support as assigned.
- Adhere to all applicable credit union policies and procedures regarding security and compliance. (Log visitors in and out, check identification if required, provide appropriate visitor badges)
- Maintain a professional appearance, demeanor, and workspace.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, and sit. This position requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move items over 15 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Typical office – no hazardous or unpleasant conditions.
The Employee will be an Employee of Y12 Federal Credit Union who is leased to CU Insurance Services of TN, LLC dba Mountain Valley Insurance.
