Position Summary

Contractor shall provide a broad range of administrative support services to the U.S. Department of Energy, Office of Science’s (SC) Consolidated Support Center (CSC). The SC-CSC is a critical element of SC program execution and implementation capability. SC-CSC is the provider of essential business and technical support to assigned SC Site Offices, other Headquarters program sponsors, and other federal agencies. SC-CSC facilitates the delivery of remarkable discoveries, advancing technology and the understanding of energy and matter, which perpetuates the well‑being of the United States.

SC-CSC provides support under the ISC concept in the functional areas of acquisition and financial assistance; technical; financial; legal; workforce management; and communications. The CSC is a virtual organization comprised of the combined support capabilities of the Oak Ridge Offices.

Essential Job Functions
  • Quality control/assurance of all personnel security (PS) work to include local files and the completion of all Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Investigative Form 79A actions (Report of Agency Adjudication Action)
  • Data input, maintenance, and accuracy of selected specialized systems to include the Central Personnel Clearance Index (CPCI), Central Tracking System – Foreign Visits/Assignments, Foreign Access Central Tracking System (FACTS), OPM Portal, HSPD-12, and E‑quip databases
  • Prepares and updates the status of PS reports associated with CPCI, FACTS, and E‑equip systems
  • Screens, reviews, and file requests for File Transfers, Extensions, Letters of Interrogatories, and forwards to senior PS Specialists for further action
  • Assists in the preliminary review of identifying positions of a “high degree of trust or sensitivities”
  • Assists in the preliminary review of early identification of potential “trust betrayal” (insider threat) issues

An individual must possess or obtain a DOE “Q” clearance and demonstrate at least two to three years of counterintelligence experience, or its equivalent, in the conduct of PS file reviews, recognition of CI indicators, report writing, and working knowledge of PS sensitive databases (e.g., CPCI, E‑equip).

Education & Training
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Advanced education in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field is preferred.
Experience
  • 3–5 years of administrative support experience, with a preference for supporting executive leadership teams
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities with a professional, polished style
  • Proficient in computer systems, including Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook), database tools, and document control systems
  • Skilled at prioritizing tasks, managing multiple responsibilities, and meeting deadlines
  • Familiar with standard office equipment such as fax machines, copiers, scanners, and shredders
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Capable of working effectively both independently and as part of a team
Special Requirements
