Job Description
The Administrative Assistant provides a wide variety of general administrative, clerical, and secretarial support to a department or group. Exercises independent judgment on assignments that are moderately difficult; requires instructions only on new assignments.
You'll create polished documents, reports, and presentations; ensure every piece of communication is clear, accurate, and professional; and turn complex information into compelling summaries. You'll be the friendly voice on the phone, the welcoming face for visitors, and the organizational powerhouse behind meetings, calendars, travel, and day-to-day coordination.
You'll keep workflows flowing—managing records, maintaining office supplies, prioritizing incoming information, and supporting document control systems. In this role, you're the go-to problem solver who keeps leaders on track, supports your team, and helps newer employees thrive. Every day brings variety, impact, and the chance to make the entire department run at its best.
We'd love to hear from candidates with:
- High School diploma or satisfactory completion of the General Educational Development test (G.E.D.)
- Three to five (3-5) years' administrative experience
- Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a DOE "Q" level security clearance
- Demonstrated PC proficiency, including Microsoft Office Software and Adobe Acrobat
A successful candidate also brings:
- Associates degree
- Currently possess a DOE "Q" level security clearance
- Experience providing support in a production or manufacturing environment
- Experience requesting and coordinating purchase requisitions in Oracle
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize as needed
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent communications skill
- Outstanding organizational abilities
