What You'll DoDirects Construction direct‑hire electrical craft activities, as assigned, and manages electrical personnel in adherence to the Construction Labor Agreement (CLA). Ensures assigned construction operations are performed safely, in compliance with Y‑12 and Construction Department procedures and specifications, and within budget and schedules. Performs general functions inherent in all supervisory construction (field) positions. Reviews and interprets electrical drawings and other project documents to determine if information is adequate for successful execution of work.
Participates in constructability and value engineering studies and develops cost and schedule estimates to support project pre‑planning efforts. Assists with the preparation of change requests/notices, field sketches, and as‑built drawings. Assists in obtaining any required Escort Package permits/security plans, lockouts, and work authorizations prior to commencing work on site. Ensures the most current issued design output documents are used to complete the work and that all design changes are approved prior to implementation.
Ensures adherence to federal, state, and local site compliance programs. Ensures job safety and is responsible for implementation of site and project safety programs. Ensures strict adherence to all site and National Electrical Code requirements by craft personnel. Ensures work performed meets workmanship and quality requirements. Coordinates successful execution of fieldwork, including incorporation of facility and quality requirements. Determines craft electrician staffing requirements.
Handles personnel matters associated with work group including requirements of bargaining unit contract. Makes hiring recommendations, evaluates performance, assesses needs, and identifies craft training requirements. Schedules work to be performed and reviews work accomplished by all assigned craft personnel. Monitors work activities and ensures the quality and productivity of work performed. Supervises and directs subordinate personnel and assigned craft personnel in construction activities.
Resolves problems including labor concerns and technical issues. Coordinates activities with other site organizations or areas as required by Construction Management. Provides leadership and personal interaction to promote a positive work environment and encourages individual involvement. Approves craft time records using established system. Assists with reports and forecasts, including summary of construction progress, craft personnel forecasts, and expenditures forecast. Monitors equipment and tool usage by direct‑hire craft personnel.
Assists in the preparation of Material Requisition s for tools and consumables and ensures that the craft personnel have the tools they require to be safe and productive.

Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree:
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience. - OR 13 or more years of education and/or relevant experience may be considered to satisfy educational and years‑of‑experience requirements for this posting.
- In addition, the applicant must meet the requirements of DOE O 426.2A (i.e., High School diploma and 3 years nuclear experience; or a DOE O 426.2A alternative).
Job Requirements
Computer literacy in Word, Excel, Outlook, etc., is required. Requires demonstrated leadership in a team‑based environment. Good communication skills, written and oral, are required. Requires knowledge of electrical discipline construction processes, worker protection methods, National Electrical Codes, and construction equipment.
