Job Overview

Amentum Nuclear Projects is seeking an on‑Site estimator to support multiple EPCM construction projects. The role involves assisting with client pricing for program changes, reviewing subcontractor requested changes across all disciplines, including Electrical and Mechanical, and participating in a multi‑project team handling $M+ projects for a single client.

• Coordinate with home office estimators for larger estimating efforts.
• Develop construction cost estimates, primarily for changed conditions.
• Lead and estimate tasks for labor and material costs of construction projects, new and changed conditions.
• Interpret plans and specifications from multiple design phases (conceptual through 100% construction documents).
• Generate quantity takeoffs and pricing for all divisions of work, including Electrical and Mechanical.
• Assist in the preparation of larger and more complex assignments.
• Analyze specifications, sketches, blueprints, bills of material, and subcontractor quotations.
• Coordinate with design personnel to fully comprehend changed conditions.
• Coordinate with construction management personnel regarding changed conditions.
• Assist with contractor negotiations if needed.
• Prepare and maintain historical cost data.

• Microsoft Excel expertise.
• 4 or more years of experience (education may substitute for some experience).
• Bachelor's degree in math, business, accounting, engineering, construction management, or a related field highly preferred.
• Ability to plan, organize, document, perform, review, and present multiple sub‑projects with minimum supervision.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to interact with all levels of the project team.
• Knowledge of specifications, sketches, blueprints, bills of material, and subcontractor quotations.
• Residency within commutable distance from Oak Ridge, TN area preferred.
• Experience with large‑scale heavy industrial projects highly preferred.
• Experience with Sage Estimating (aka Timberline Estimating Software or equivalent) is a plus.

• Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting.
• Lifting limited to 20 lbs. (supplies, drawings, etc.) with a maximum carrying distance of 50 feet.
• Hand manipulation for simple grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation using either hand.
• Occasional need to reach above the shoulder or work below it.
• No foot controls required.
• Must be alert to field equipment and occasionally travel near hazardous machinery, uneven ground, dust, gas or fumes, noise, extreme temperatures, or potential heights.
• U.S. citizenship required; valid driver’s license required.
• Must work in a team atmosphere and maintain professional behavior that enhances productivity.
• Grooming and dress must be appropriate and not pose a safety risk.
• Must pass a pre‑employment drug, background check, and site security badge screening.

$90,000 - $130,000. The compensation range or hourly rate listed for this position is a good‑faith estimate of what the company intends to offer for this role at the time this posting was issued. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, internal equity, market data, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and relevant laws.
