JOB DETAILS

• Reports to the Special Education Supervisor/TSW coordinator/Principals
  - Main location is ORHS but is a district-wide employee
• Works with high school/middle school students on the skills that will be taught at the high school, including developing resumes, developing a Reference contact list, filling out applications, leading mock interviews, etc.
• Assist teachers in teaching pre-employment transition skills in the classroom. Teaches recipients how to perform specific tasks and understand workplace policies while modeling appropriate behavior.
• Assists students in establishing an appropriate working relationship with co-workers and supervisors at the work-based learning site.
• Assist in developing methods of teaching job tasks and modifying processes to accommodate the student’s barriers to employment.
• Assists students and their families in completing necessary documentation for post-secondary education applications.
• Monitor attendance and behavior of students to ensure progress toward measurable job readiness goals. Provide feedback to the student and transition case manager.
• Understand and keep up to date with new technology, community resources, and assistive devices available for people with disabilities.
• One year experience working with students or adults with disabilities is required
• Maintains a high level of confidentiality, a professional demeanor, and always represents Oak Ridge Schools in a positive manner

Position Type: Full-Time

Salary: $17.45 to $24.25 Per Hour
