Navarro Research and Engineering is recruiting an Electrical Engineer, Instrument & Controls in Oak Ridge, TN.

Candidate will be responsible for developing high quality detailed design packages, providing engineering procurement and field technical support to implement those designs, and providing expertise for troubleshooting and technical assessments of plant systems.

• Develop high quality detailed design packages and provide engineering procurement and field technical support to implement designs.
• Provide expertise for troubleshooting and technical assessments of plant systems.
• Prepare conceptual engineering deliverables such as cost-estimating bills of material and labor-hour estimates, statements of work, design criteria.
• Prepare title II design engineering deliverables including calculations, analyses, construction specifications & drawings, and equipment specifications.
• Work effectively as a member of an integrated project team; perform walkdowns in existing facilities to generate design documents and provide field support to craft personnel.
• Apply technical principles in the Electrical Engineering field with a focus on instrumentation/controls for equipment process control and monitoring.
• Provide self-performed technical solutions using established engineering practices, codes, and standards; perform field troubleshooting to inform design for corrective actions.
• Prepare conduit/cable schedules, conduit/equipment plans, one-line diagrams, wiring/connection/schematic diagrams, instrument loop diagrams, sections/elevations/details, calculations, datasheets, and construction specifications.
• Develop control cabinet assembly drawings, system diagrams, and control logic for batch and continuous processes using analog instrumentation, distributed digital control systems, and PLC/HMI solutions.
• Develop process control system narratives, assist in software requirements, and provide input to P&IDs.
• Demonstrate experience with the National Electrical Code, UL508A, and ISA standards for instrumentation and controls design.

• A Professional Engineering License (PE) is preferred but not required.
• Full-time position with a 4/10 schedule (Mon.–Thu.). DOE Q-Clearance is highly desired, but not required to start work; uncleared candidates must apply for a clearance after starting work.
• B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 10 years' experience and >3 years instrumentation and controls design engineering experience.
• Experience with Rockwell Automation industrial automation software (RSLogix, Factory Talk View, etc.) is preferred but not required.
• US citizenship is required due to government contract requirements and/or clearance requirements.
