Successful candidates will be employees of AIS, a premier government contractor charged with employing highly motivated and well-qualified personnel who can advance Y-12's core mission to ensure a safe, secure, and reliable U.S. nuclear deterrent, which is essential to national security. Though employed by AIS, the employee will take day‑to‑day direction and assignments from Y-12 staff employed directly by the security complex.

Qualified applicants must be a US citizen, at least 18 years of age, and able to meet pre‑employment requirements including any required physicals, drug screen, and/or background investigation to satisfy clearance requirements from the Department of Energy.
ResponsibilitiesServices are required for an Electrical Designer to work in the Y-12 Division Managed Design Engineering Field Design Support group. Responsibilities/skills include:
Drafting in Bentley Micro Station- One-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, lighting/power plans, installation details, Instrumentation and Controls Diagrams, conduit/cable schedules, fire alarm and communication drawings.
- Experience with low and medium voltage power distribution and industrial control systems.
- Experience with NFPA 70, NFPA 79, and UL508A.
- Preparing data sheets, specifications, and walkdown reports.
- Work in concert with an electrical engineers and other CAD drafters from the same work group.
- Must be able to support construction and operational activities related to design outputs. Field walkdowns will be required sometimes in radiological contaminated areas. The ability to obtain a Q‑clearance will be required. Little to no (
