Location: Oak Ridge, Tennessee
Primary ResponsibilitiesDrive coordination between manufacturing engineering, facility design, construction execution, and factory launch. This role exists to ensure the factory is not just built — but built correctly for the manufacturing system it must support. It is a highly cross‑functional execution role where the successful candidate will operate at the intersection of manufacturing process development, facility design, equipment layout, construction execution, and commissioning.
Manufacturing& Facility Integration
- Serve as the primary coordination point between manufacturing engineering, architect/engineering design teams, construction management, and commissioning teams.
- Ensure facility design decisions support the actual manufacturing processes, equipment layouts, and production flow.
- Translate manufacturing requirements into facility design inputs including utilities, equipment space, material flow, and infrastructure.
- Work with manufacturing engineering to develop and refine factory layouts, equipment placement, and process flow.
- Ensure layouts support both initial first‑of‑a‑kind production and future scaled manufacturing.
- Identify layout, infrastructure, or facility constraints early and drive design adjustments.
- Facilitate coordination between internal engineering teams and external design partners.
- Ensure architectural and engineering designs remain aligned with manufacturing requirements and operational needs.
- Identify conflicts between facility design and manufacturing equipment early.
- Participate in design reviews, constructability discussions, and field coordination meetings.
- Support resolution of design‑to‑field conflicts affecting manufacturing systems.
- Coordinate installation sequencing between construction completion, equipment installation, and commissioning activities.
- Support development of equipment installation plans and factory startup sequencing.
- Ensure infrastructure readiness for manufacturing systems.
- Help translate the first factory design into a scalable template for future facilities.
- Document lessons learned and improvements to support replication of future factories.
We are looking for someone who combines manufacturing understanding with facility development awareness.
