Job Summary:
In this role, you will assist in interpreting and integrating health and safety requirements into project planning, design, construction, and operations. You will provide input and technical guidance, assist with communications, track performance trends, and conduct inspections and monitoring. Your work will help keep employees safe by contributing to continuous improvement of project health and safety. #LI-EH1
Major Responsibilities:- Establishes and implements routine dropped object prevention program on the project.
- Work closely with construction staff and ES&H to troubleshoot emerging issues.
- Mitigate identified and upcoming hazards by recommending engineering or other controls as needed.
- Participate in incident investigations as directed by the ES&H manager.
- Provides assistance in a wide variety of Environmental, Safety, and Health (ES&H) disciplines to facilitate implementation of Bechtel's ES&H program and ES&H Management System to include aiding in compliance with Bechtel's ES&H standards, applicable regulatory requirements, and contractual commitments
- Assists in the development, implementation, and maintenance of programs, systems, and procedures necessary for the safety and health of employees and protection of the environment and communities
- Maintains ES&H databases, inclusive of incident events, audit/assessment findings, and corrective actions
- Performs data analysis to help identify performance trends and contributing factors as part of continuous improvement
- Helps identify and coordinate any unique software systems used by ES&H personnel
- Leads risk assessment, studies, mitigation planning, and monitoring in response to moderately complex ES&H issues
- Prepares communications, writes reports, and prepares documents for program execution and records retention
- Assists with incident notifications, investigations, and reporting
- Recommends improvements in processes, procedures, and work activities to minimize hazard potential
- Participates in and supports employee training, emergency preparedness, and quality assurance programs
- Coordinates ES&H recognition programs
- Provides support to ES&H field and office personnel, inclusive of all ES&H disciplines
- Assist with implementation and improvement of the nuclear safety culture on the project.
- Required a University Hire with 1-2 years of experience or 5-6 years of relevant work experience.
Skills:
- Knowledge in a field of Environmental Science, Safety and Health Management, or related discipline.
- Knowledge of environmental and safety procedures, principles, and methodologies.
- Knowledge of national environmental and safety laws/regulations and regulatory agencies' processes and responsibilities, industry standards/practices for compliance, and best management practices for minimizing potential ES&H risks during project execution.
- Knowledge of engineering and construction systems, methods, and work processes.
- Knowledge of construction planning, estimating, procedures, subcontracting, and execution Experience in ES&H data management and analytic software programs (e.g.: Power BI, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access).
- Knowledge of hazardous materials and physical risk exposures and Personal Protective Equipment standards as well as People Based Safety processes and procedures.
