ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a Field Engineer, Electrical to join our team supporting the Uranium Processing Facility
! This position is short-term full-time.
- Support completion of UPF’s electrical system(s).
- Provide project field engineering specialization and expertise with electrical systems.
- Exercise judgment related to appropriate electrical codes and standards.
- Review submittals related to electrical engineering.
- Support electrical inspection activities.
- Utilize strong field background related to electrical experience.
- Assist with recommendations to ensure field engineering activities operate safely, are complete, and conform to quality standards and project requirements.
- Perform the following tasks:
- Work Planning & Packaging – prepares construction drawings and sketches & facilitates planning construction methods and procedures.
- Material Management – initiates requisition for field purchases & prepares quantity takeoffs of field purchased material and equipment.
- Quantities – verifies commodities on quantity tracking systems or other computer database systems as required.
- Safety / Quality Control – ensures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area & tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely.
- System Turnover – develops firm understanding of electrical system and area scoping and drawings required for package development.
- Subcontract Coordination - reviews and approves inspection test plans & coordinates reviews of subcontractor submittals.
- Education & Years of Experience – High School Diploma and 9+ years of relevant experience or Bachelor’s Degree 3+ years of relevant experience.
- Citizenship – To be considered, you must be a United States (U.S.) citizen due to the federal nature of the work.
- Clearance – To be considered, you must be able to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance, if needed.
- Must have a strong electrical execution background (as either an Electrical Superintendent or Field Engineer).
- Must have a working knowledge of design codes and standards including NFPA 70-2014, NEC, and NQA-1.
- Experience with DOE, DoD, and/or commercial nuclear construction projects is preferred.
- Must have strong experience in work execution and field expertise.
The UPF project works on a 4/10 schedule. Start times are flexible but the standard work week is Monday - Thursday from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm.
