Position: Mechanical Engineer with Security Clearance

Duties/Responsibilities:
Collaborate with external vendors and contractors to ensure site, equipment, and facility processes meet project specifications, regulatory requirements, and quality standards.
Develop, document, and maintain technical specifications and performance requirements for UF6 (uranium hexafluoride) processing equipment.
Review vendor designs, drawings, and technical submittals to verify compliance with engineering requirements and operational needs.
Coordinate with internal engineering, operations, safety, and compliance teams to support equipment integration and facility readiness.
Support procurement activities by providing technical input, evaluating vendor proposals, and assisting with supplier selection.
Participate in design reviews, factory acceptance testing (FAT), site acceptance testing (SAT), and commissioning activities.
Identify risks, issues, and improvement opportunities related to equipment performance, installation, and facility interfaces.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited college.
Experience working with vendors, suppliers, or contractors to support equipment, facility, or process requirements.
Ability to develop and interpret engineering specifications, technical requirements, and design documentation.
Strong communication and coordination skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams (engineering, operations, safety, procurement).

Preferred Qualifications Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited college.
Experience in chemical processing, nuclear, industrial manufacturing, or regulated environments.
Experience supporting equipment installation, testing, commissioning, or acceptance activities. Location/Work Arrangement:
This position will be onsite in Oak Ridge, TN.
Schedule is full-time, Monday – Friday 40-hour week. Benefits: BGS offers a competitive total compensation package to eligible employees.
