Electrical Engineering Technician; Design), Level IV Security Clearance

Job Summary

Electrical Designer to work in the Y-12 Division Managed Design Engineering Field Design Support group.

• Drafting in Bentley Micro Station including one‑line diagrams, wiring diagrams, lighting/power plans, installation details, instrumentation and controls diagrams, conduit/cable schedules, fire alarm and communication drawings.
• Support construction and operational activities related to design outputs; field walkdowns may be required in radiological contaminated areas.
• Collaborate with electrical engineers and other CAD drafters within the same work group.
• Prepare data sheets, specifications, and walk‑down reports.

• U.S. citizen, at least 18 years of age.
• Must be able to meet pre‑employment requirements including physical, drug screen, background investigation, and DOE clearance.
• Experience with low and medium voltage power distribution and industrial control systems.
• Experience with NFPA 70, NFPA 79, and UL 508A.
• Associate’s degree or higher in a technical field with 10–15 years of related experience, or high school diploma with 20+ years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated in‑depth knowledge and skills in the technical specialty; may lead other technicians by providing work direction.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Q clearance from DOE.
• Position requires participation in a Workplace Substance Abuse Program (WSAP); ongoing random drug testing is required.
• Pre‑employment drug screen and medical examinations may be required.
