We are seeking a motivated Mechanical Designer to contribute to our mission supporting our work at Centrus Energy in Oak Ridge, TN
.

• Create 3D models and drawings to build next-generation accelerators and pulsed power machines.
• Partner with engineers and scientists to develop designs.
• Partner with engineers to discuss and interpret design concepts and identify requirements for detailed working drawings.
• Collaborate with procurement, manufacturing, and suppliers to discuss design, schedule, manufacturing processes and material selections to ensure contractual agreements are understood and achievable.
• Manage documentation in a collaborative engineering environment using product data management tools along with engineering authorization and approval processes and procedures.

• Associate degree in Drafting or related field (required).

• At least 3 years of working experience as a designer or equivalent combination of education and experience (required).
• Proficiency with PTC/Creo.
• Experience with GD&T.
• Experience with 3D modeling.
• This position requires U.S. citizenship (required).
• Candidates must be able to successfully pass a federal background investigation to secure and maintain DOE Q security clearance (preferred).
• Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing (required).

• Active Q Clearance.

• Initial year contract with extension and/or conversion options possible.
